Natural Opal Necklace

The centerpiece of this necklace is a natural opal mined from Ethiopia. These Ethiopian opals display a semi-opaque, milky white backdrop upon which subtle flashes of color will appear and disappear depending on the angle and lighting. Photos show the same opal at different angles. Colors may be a single or combination of neon green, blue, orange, or pink depending on the particular opal.

Choose from 14K gold filled chains or sterling silver chains to mount your opal upon. Beaded chain measures 1 mm in width with 2mm beads while the simple chain measures 1.2mm in width. Opal measure 3 x 5 to 5 x 8mm. Gift box included with purchase. Model is wearing the 16 inch version.

Avoid getting your opal wet. Opals like to soak up water which will make the beautiful fiery colors disappear until the opal dries up again which may take weeks. The texture of the Ethiopian opal is smooth and slightly waxy and is softer than most other gemstones, therefore, you should take care not scratch it with anything sharp.
